The Handyman's Pocket Book: Slow-drying Polish.
A tablespoonful of turpentine added to a pint of french polish will retard the drying of polish and make it easier to spread with a brush. Pure American turps should be used as some turps substitute contains grease which may prevent the polish from hardening.
