Mungo the Cargo Ship Disaster!
Linda and I set off to greet Mungo the Cargo Ship back to Littlehampton.
We were met with this scene of calamity:
According to the mumbling in the crowd, the ship's steering had failed just off Littlehampton causing it to become fouled on an underwater barrier at the mouth of the Arun.
The tide is on the way out and Mungo's stern may drop by another 3 metres.
It's nothing to smile about Linda!!!
Stop Press:
Mungo the Cargo Ship's disaster has just made the local South Today T.V. News.

Mungo's Back!
I'm gnashing my teeth, tearing my hair and rending my garments.
I can see Mungo The Cargo Ship anchored just off Littlehampton waiting for the high-tide, around about now, but I can't get down to wave a greeting because I have to go out for dinner.
I've just returned from the beach where I took this picture:

Mungo The Cargo Ship Returns To Littlehampton.
I've become a ship-spotter.
As I've just taken up ship-spotting I thought it best to restrict my spotting to one ship.
Using this site: Marine Traffic I've tracked the comings and goings of Mungo the Cargo Ship as it plies it's trade back and forth across the English Channel.
Imagine my excitement when Mungo started heading back toward Littlehampton.
On Tuesday evening I could see Mungo from my attic window. It was anchored about a mile off shore waiting to enter Littlehampton on Wednesday morning.
I cycled down to Littlehampton yesterday to watch Mungo sail into port up the Arun river:

I cycled down to Littlehampton yesterday to watch Mungo sail into port up the Arun river:
I then hurtled off to film Mungo passing the retractable bridge:
Back on the bike to ride down and film Mungo turning round before mooring:
I'm not sure how much more of this kind of excitement I can take.
Maybe ship-spotting's not for me.
