A Disturbing Development.

A few years ago I came into possession of this:
It's Gandy Dancer.

The other day, for no apparent reason, I bought 8 double 1st radius HO/OO curves, enough to make a complete circle.

Over the past months I've been constructing small track-side buildings.

These are danger signs who's warnings are all to clear.
I'm planing building a model railway.

Banished Jr has his wooden set with Thomas, Percy and James etc which is really rather smart but I am disturbed by the Americans cavalier attitude the the nicietes of Thomas the Tank Engine.

1. He is Thomas the Tank Engine, not Thomas the train. A train is a loco and rolling stock

2. The large well dressed chap is the Fat Controller. Not Sir Topham Hat. Political correctness gone mad!

3. Thomas the Tank Engkine is voiced by Ringo Starr. Not by Michael Brandon out of Dempsey and Makepiece (and Argento's 4 Mosche Di Velluto Grigio '4 Flies on Grey Velvet'). Bizarrely he was for a while voiced by comedian George Carlin. That was truly weird.

This is not at all 'disturbing' ...
It's an avenue to sanity!

I wish I could find a COMPLETE version of "John Allen's Railroad" online ...

But this page'll play you the first verse, and you may get a hint:

PS: What got me thinking about the song were the lyrics, "Never worked a gandy dancer 'til his muscles tore / It don't run any more."

Thanks for drawing my attention to John Allen J.J.
I'd never heard of him or his Gorre & Daphetid layout.
Bit of a sad end really.

Might have to learn the song.
