I saw him 'live' so to speak.
He was the MC of Music of the Stars & Fireworks concert.
To end the first half he hammered out his addition to the Planet Suite 'Pluto' which sounded, to my ear at least, like the soundtrack of a public information film.

On opening the second half it soon became apparent that he may perhaps have had one sherry to many during the interval and described the Star Wars movies in very uncomplimentary terms.

He contributed some strangely cryptic letters to the local paper and if I can remember where I put the clippings I'll post them.

Happy days.

I've been known to speak in very uncomplimentary terms regarding the Star Wars movies without aid of strong drink. The 'pleasures' of George Lucas's 'epic saga' always escaped me and thats was even before the second truely awful round came out. The same goes for his good buddy Steven 'Wheres my Oscar?' Spielburg who hasn't made a decent movie since Jaws.
