OSM Ind. Experimental Automata 002: The Bell Tower.
Harriet suggested adding bells to the Skull-Bobber, but I could only find one bell so this will have to do:

OSM Ind. Experimental Automata 01: The Skull-Bobber.
I have no recollection of how last night I came to be sat at the dinning table with a roll of wire and a pair of pliers.
The roll of wire looked like a Slinky, but was not a Slinky.
It was wire used in some form of gardneering.
After lots of measuring, bending, re-bending, deciding some kind of plan might be a good idea, I eventually ended up with this:

Obviously it's a little further on from the bend, unbending stage.
The key to this whole machine is the guide plate across the centre of the housing.
This keeps the push-rods where they should be.
Here's the test of the mechanism:
I had intended putting something 'fluffy' on the ends of the push-rods, but all I could find were skulls:
The finished item now looks and moves like this:
Oh, scary.

Mood Lighting Up The Cat and Rabbit Rescue.
I went into the Cat and Rabbit Rescue.
I bought a middle sized plate for my next cake-stand project.
I have neglected to illustrate this purchase with an image.
Be thankful.
I also bought a glass lamp shade.
The kind that used to go on oil lamps.
They're not rare really, it's the glass chimney that's difficult to find.
Here it is then:

I found some battery operated fairy-lights in the Xmas decs box, which is already back in the attic.
I put the fairy-lights in the lamp shade and turned them on:
Funny, it didn't look orange in the shop.
Ukulele Tunes 01: Between The Lines (osm)
I wrote this song in 2005.
I remember been sort of happy with it.
This recording consists of:
I had intended to use the initial recording as a guide for more carefully recorded overdubs though all the recorded tracks appear in this version.
(and will do until I can decide on how to mix it properly)
I remember been sort of happy with it.
This recording consists of:
- The original recording of Concert Ukulele, Vocal and Kazoo made with an iPod running the Retro Recorder app.
- A bass line recorded using the Broom-Pole and Tin-Box Single String Bass.
- A Baritone ukulele track.
- Another Concert Uke track using the Resonator Ukulele.
- Additional Vocal track.
I had intended to use the initial recording as a guide for more carefully recorded overdubs though all the recorded tracks appear in this version.
(and will do until I can decide on how to mix it properly)
And the words go:
I treasure every letter sent
From the place where you have gone
Its simple words and heartfelt thoughts
That help me carry on
You write how much your missing me
In sorrow your heart pines
I study every word you write
Never read between the lines
When you write your letters home
You don't seem so far away
The life you lead is different now
While mine's still day to day
I know you find it hard to write
While your having such good times
I still study every word you write
Never read between the lines
I've not heard from you for sometime now
Can't think what I've done wrong
I've written to you everyday
To say my love's still strong (and)
Though their tattered bits of paper now
I've read a million times
I still study every word you write
Never read between the lines

There Are Limits y'Know.
I'm not a selfish person.
I know how to share my things with other people.
But...
This is a bridge to far:

OSM Admin Asst. (Electronic Data Dept) and a Puppy.
Another bow-string seems to be developing apace.
Admin Asst.
Because I know how these 'bloody computers' work, can send/receive electronic-mail, search the information super highway for relevant information as requested, use a scanner, build a spreadsheet, order items on special offer from the Daily Mail newspaper, and cause to be displayed on the computer screen scenes of amusement and/or historical interest I seem to be spending more and more time in the company of Sir W. helping him run his vast international property portfolio:

During a slack moment, of which there aren't many, I noticed that the light-fitting was just behind my head which gave me a certain 'look':
Wukulele Jam (boree).
On 21st. of September 2009 I was cycling to Brighton as part of my preparation for riding the New Forest 'Gridiron' event:
Adventures In Modern Cycling No. 8: Brighton.
I wasn't very complimentary about Worthing.
From a cycling point of view it was the worst section of the ride.
I remember passing the Worthing Rowing Club and hearing the sound of massed ukuleles hammering out a tune and thought to myself "must get my old ukulele out and give it a strum sometime".
The world turns, water flows under bridges, moons wax and wane.
I don't suppose I need to tell anyone that I am now a fanatical ukulele jamster and that Wukulele is my ukulele spiritual home.
All this is just to draw attention to the revamp of the Wukulele website which is now a thing of beauty:

I basically hijacked last Sunday's jam and selfishly used it as my 55th birthday party.

OSM Ind: The Dull Music Stand Invigoration Device.
I have oft times thought that the sight of an unadorned music stand was one of pity.
Ah, for the music stands of the Summerbridge and Dacre Silver Prize Band et al.
I have taken it on myself to address this sorry situation.
Behold!
The OSM Ind Dull Music Stand Invigoration Device:

Gaze up on it's details:
Here we see it in use at today's Wukulele Jam:
No, don't thank me.
I do this to make the world just a little bit better for everyone.
