Weird Fungus, sorry, Lichen...
Found under a rock, the strangest fungus I've ever seen...

If you find strange dark protrusions that seem to follow your every movement, it is not a fungus; it's a creature from another world.
I believe what you have there is a type of Pixie Cup Lichen, and a very nice one too!

Tis' indeed a weird Lichen, but then again they're all a little weird aren't they (chuckle)
Perhaps it's something that returned home with you as a stowaway from one of your 'otherworldly' expeditions and has decided that it likes it's new home and the sea air :-)
I have taken this as a sign that I must now read John Wyndham's 'Trouble with Lichen...'
