Dear Banished,
Of course I am not completely sure, but I think we might be in the same pompous land. My part of it is -10 (F!!!) this morning and we had an actual BLIZZARD two days ago. (If we are in the same pompous land, it is clear that it is a very BIG pompous land.) And one more thing... um... oh... snow, no snow, cold, warm... what-evs. SPRINGTIME IS COMING!!! YAY!!!
Sincerely,
Le Sanglier du Nord
P.S. Hi OSM! The sap is running. It is sugaring time here in Niflheim!

Yes indeed we are in the same pompous land though I'm somewhat south of you in SE Virginia on the coast. But its certainly been an atypical winter here. I've only experienced 3 snows in 10 years before this and now 4 snow storms in 2 months. 10 school snow days! Which is ludicrous considering that not one of the snow storms dropped more than 6 inches. Im sure you'd regard this as being as feeble as I do. OSM and I were both raised oop North where as everyone knows, it is proverbially grim.

Dear Banished,
We have so much in common! I used to live in SW Virginia, in the mountains. See? We are practically old friends! I did not know that it was proverbially grim in the North of England. To my inexperienced eyes, it looks like a delightful place for a holiday. It is hard for non-school-bus-driving adults to understand about the snow day thing. Let's face it, south-rons just don't have the snow experience to get the kids to school safely.
Sincerely,
Le Sang
P.S. Hi again OSM! I took a pic of my daffodil watercolor painting for you but it turned out too blurry to post. (I continue to tremor my way towards the inevitable cessation of all earthly suffering.) My house looks like King Winter's Palace, heaping piles of frozen snow, downed pine branches, and 5 foot icicles hanging off the roof. But REALLY... the sap is running... slowly... maybe not actually running... maybe just dripping a little bit.

Dripping?

Here's my dripping joke....

A woman visits her local butcher.
'Do you keep dripping?' She asks the butcher.
'Yes, madam, I do' replied the butcher.
'Awkward isn't it?' Responded the woman.
